Most patients arrive on a referral from their doctor. Family practice, internal medicine, neurology, ENT, and oncology providers across the East Valley send patients to us for vestibular testing. A referral is not always required to be seen, but many insurance plans require one before they cover balance testing, so it is worth checking your benefits first.

If your physician has already sent a referral, we can usually schedule you within a few days, and sometimes the same day. In most cases, yes. We bill VA Community Care, Vocational Rehabilitation, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, AHCCCS, and most other major commercial plans. Several of these are plans other practices in the area decline, which is one reason physicians route patients to us.

One detail that saves confusion: this location shares a tax ID with our sister practice, Ascent Audiology & Hearing, so some insurers still list us as Ascent at the Mesa address. If your plan's directory shows Ascent on Baseline Road, that is us. A VNG, or videonystagmography, records eye movement to evaluate how your inner ear responds across three subtests: ocular motor, positional, and caloric. It is the standard starting battery for dizziness and vertigo, and it is where most balance workups begin.

Rotational chair testing adds what a VNG cannot capture. It measures how well your eyes and inner ear coordinate across a range of head speeds while a computer-driven chair turns you at controlled rates. That makes it especially useful when both ears are affected, when VNG results are unclear, or when a physician wants to track change over time. Only a few Arizona facilities have this equipment, and both tests are performed here in Mesa.

Yes. Balance and vestibular diagnostics make up most of our clinical volume, but this is a full-service audiology practice. We provide hearing evaluations for adults and teens, electrophysiology such as ABR and ECochG, tinnitus evaluation and sound therapy, custom hearing protection, earwax removal, and hearing aid fittings verified with real ear measurement.

On the hearing aid side, we work with every major manufacturer rather than a single supplier, verify each new fitting with Real Ear measurement, and service most brands in our on-site technology lab. Plenty of patients come to us in Mesa for a balance workup and learn they also have a treatable hearing loss, so keeping both under one roof means nothing gets missed.
